Amazing Ideas For Your Book Report

March 9, 2021 by Gregory

One of the biggest challenges faced by students during their time at school is writing a book report. A book report is not the easiest thing to write; for many people, it becomes very imposing. As a result, many students lose interest in books.

However, there are many ways you can make a book report interesting and change it to a fun activity. Hence, to help you to make a book report, here are some amazing Ideas for Book Reports.

Take a walk in a character’s shoes

There are many choices that a character makes in a book or a novel. Moreover, most of the time, these choices are what help in the flow of the story. So, fame around 5-10 questions about the choices made by the character. After that, try answering these questions from the perspective of the character. You can write about the particular event, the character’s feelings, thoughts, and the impact of their decision.

Draw up a lesson

While reading nonfiction books, the best approach is to create a lesson plan. Any topic that interests you, whether it is history, nature, sports, science, etc. You should make a lesson plan by playing the part of a teacher. This lesson plan will help you teach what you learned from the book. You can explain the concept, facts, or any information that you want to convey from the book. Make sure to follow a logical order with your lesson plan. Finally, you should show and perform the lesson plan for a friend, parent, or sibling.

Create a list based on character traits

While reading a book, you will come across a character that is a protagonist, hero, or likable, and in the opposite spectrum, there is an antagonist, villain, or unlikable. Hence, you should list out different characters and their traits. You may notice that a likable character may have unlikeable traits, and similarly unlikable characters may show likable traits.

Write a letter to the Author

One of the best practices is to write a letter to the author of the book you read. You should keep in mind to write these things in the letter:

  • Mention the book you read and if you have read any other of the author’s work.
  • Share your thoughts and opinions about the books you just read. Write down at least three things; it can be your favorite part about the book, the characters, the setting, plot, and even the ending.
  • At last, ask them a few questions; these questions need not be about the book. They can be personal questions like a favorite book, favorite place to visit, or you can also ask about the writing process of the author.

Formulate a timeline-based map

If you are reading a biography or some sort of historical fiction, one of the most helpful things could be creating a timeline. Making a timeline of all the events, plot points that graphically take place can be valuable. You can make these with the help of drawings, clipart, or even magazine cutouts. Additionally, creating a map to display the locations from the story can come in handy.
